Prescott Through a Local’s Eye: Annie and Holly Favour

Photo: Heather Rocha Photography

Annie and Holly Favour are the founders of One Hundred Chairs, an event rental company here in Prescott. Recently, I had the privilege of watching them in action. The transformation that took place was nothing short of remarkable. The space went from utilitarian to comfortable elegance in 3 hours, and this gave me pause. What I saw wasn't an event rental company dropping off set pieces. Instead, it was a team of design gurus masterfully adapting to conditions on the ground.

“We believe every person who comes to us is as unique as the handpicked pieces we gather. They all have their own stories. We are here to help our clients tell those stories through our vintage-inspired rental pieces, detailed design development, and specialized styling service.”

I have always been fascinated by businesses that exist because of the forced collision of art and commerce. I had to know more. My 7-year-old daughter, Ensley, told me to be brave, so I reached out to Annie and Holly with questions about their lives, businesses, and America’s Hometown.

1. Eat | Where is your go-to in Prescott?

Holly is headed to grab a truly stellar sub sandwich from Nick's Feed Your Face (still, after 20-plus years!). Annie enjoys a tasty meal enjoyed in a place with a unique ambiance; topping her list and checking off both items would be Torme.

2. Stay | Do you stay-cation in town? Airbnb vs hotel?

Airbnb gets the vote for a stay-cation here in Prescott. A cute little house near downtown or something more rustic in the pines would be ideal.

3. Play | Favorite outdoor activity or regional destination?

Picnics would be a favorite outdoor activity. Pack a meal of our own, grab a sandwich or baked good from a local business or a charcuterie box from Primrose Board Co., and head out. A picnic can look very different depending on where you choose to have it: at the end of a long dirt ranch road on a Sunday drive, in the cooler mountain scenery up near Williams, or even on the grass at a local park.

4. Shop | Which local businesses will you be frequenting this holiday season?

We do love to support local businesses and find ourselves at one more often than not, given the variety and space of our friends and family members. Local stops already on our list include Modern Day Forager, Magpie Home and Gift, and Prescott Trading Company.

5. History | What is your favorite historical fact or place in Prescott?

Great stories and history came out of the big fire that tore through downtown Prescott in July of 1900. In so many ways, it represents what Prescott is about: a town that came together, worked to save the local gathering place by packing out the iconic bar, and then rebuilt it better! We now directly benefit from the improvement as our business operates out of the old Brinkmeyer Hotel and Bakery building that was rebuilt stronger and still stands today.

6. Experience | Date Night or Day Trip?

Let's make it a date day! Start with a kayak outing on one of the local lakes, then after cleaning up head to The Point Lounge for a craft cocktail, then off to dinner. In the summer, the evening should definitely be capped off with a stroll around Courthouse Square!

7. People | Which human has been the most inspirational in regards to your growth as a business owner?

Our Dad takes this one! He taught and showed us how to work hard, set goals, and be professionals while also being understated and humble. He imparted the importance of building connections as well as supporting and giving back to the community we are a part of.
